Get Fashionably Fit in Old Navy Activewear!

This was another great sample and share opportunity from Old Navy and Crowdtap. Old Navy offered me and one friend a free Active Wear bottom and Active Wear top from Old Navy. I used this opportunity for another fun girls day out. I took my mom and both of my brother's girlfriends- Jessica and Kimberly. I only was able to offer one of them the Active Wear coupon from Old Navy so I had them draw straws to see who got to use it. Jessica won the straw drawing.
We first entered Old Navy and was easily able to find the Active Wear section. It was all together in one section making it easy to shop. Kimberly and my mom also shopped around with us. Neither of them decided to try on any Active Wear, but they did try on a few other things and my mom made a purchase.
Jessica tried on some compression pants, a pair of roll down capris, and a tank top that ties at the hip. I decided that I really could use something more for the summer so I tried on the same roll down capris and a tank and a zippered top. Everything fit so well. It all also felt so comfy. Jessica chose the capris and the tank. I chose the capris also and the zippered top. I liked how the zippered top was very light weight and thin. I also liked how it felt like it would keep the sweat off of me and had the thumb holes. Jessica loved the tank top and how it fit. She said she would wear it for every day wear, not just for workouts or active activities.
The active wear did not have a large selection, but it was a decent amount. It was mostly shorts and sports bras that had the large selection. There were a few compression pants and a few regular active wear pants. There were 3 styles of capris. They had many colors to choose from though. I liked the bright colors that stand out like the yellows, pinks, and greens that were available. I love the colors against the black or gray of the pant/capri.
Checking out was super fast and easy. The sales associates were very polite and helpful.

Shore-ly a Beach Beauty in Old Navy Beachwear!

Thursday, May 16th, I got some friends together and we took a trip to our nearest Old Navy. I have just reently moved and found out that the closest Old Navy has either moved or been shut down, but I can't find it if it has moved. The next closest Old Navy is about an hour from where I live now. (side note.... PLEASE Old Navy open some more stores in Alabama between Birmingham and Tuscaloosa!!!) Back to my trip. I took my mom, and both of my brother's girlfriends. I thought this would be a great way for my mom and me to get to know the girlfriends better and have a fun girl's day out. We each browsed Old Navy's website for the selection of swim suits that Old Navy offers in stores to see what styles we planned to try on before we got to the store. Looking through the selection on the website, we each had several swim suits picked out that we were going to look for first.
Once we got to the store, we decided on going straight to the swim suits first. We each knew that would take the longest since we had to try on so many so that we found the perfect suit. We were a little disappointed at the selection of suits available at our nearest Old Navy. There were several walls of bikinis, but the selection of one pieces and tankinis were very, very few. We found only one control waist swimsuit. There were 2 other one piece suits. There were only about 5 tankini's to choose from (3 solid colors, 1 stripe, 1 print). Only one of the four of my group were looking for an actual bikini. The other 3 of us wanted a one piece or tankini. So those 3 of us didn't have much to choose from at all. The 3 of us each tried on all 3 of the one pieces and all colors/prints of the tankinis. The 4th girl tried on several bikinis and one tankini.
Myself and one other girl really liked the style of the control waist swimsuit, but for myself the chest area didn't have enough support. It was a very thin strap which did not hold up my breasts. Instead the weight of the swimsuit seemed to pull my breasts down. For the other girl, it was fine for her breasts, but she struggled to get the swimsuit on easily. My mom and I tried on a one piece with a key hole style top. It looked great on my mom and it was easily one that she set aside that she liked. For myself, again it did not support my breasts. My mom and I also tried on another one piece but neither of us liked the print.
There were two styles of tankinis. One was a striped tankini that was mroe fitted to the body but the breasts were made in a way that they were supprtive and they were formed to shape. I really liked the way the breasts were done on this one and how well the  breasts fit and were supportive for me. However the breasts on this one did not work for any of the other girls. It was too much for each of them. I didn't choose this one however because of how fitted it was and I wannted something a little looser and I wanted to be able to interchange the bottoms, but there were not other bottoms other than the stripe ones that were available for this. I would have chose this one anyway if it had some solid green colored bottoms to have gone with it. Jessica tried on a pink tankini. We all agreed that the pink top and pink bottoms was too much pink for her, but we found the perfect bottoms to go with it, some striped ones that were pink and orange. It looked great. The solid top evened her out and the striped bottoms drew attention to her adding shape. It was the suit she chose. This top was a halter with more flexible breasts not as much support, but she didn't need the support. This style of top came in more options of colors to choose from.
Kimberly tried on the same green striped tankini that I had tried on. It fit her good, but the breasts were not fitting for her size. She is so small and petite. She ended up trying on many bikinis and in the end she was torn between a matching striped top and bottoms in a blue or the same striped top with a solid bottom. In the end she chose the striped top and solid bottom. My mom, Vicki, was torn between a solid black tankini she had tried on and a printed one piece swim suit. I in the end still struggled a bit because I have such and odd shape right now. I was trying to choose between the striped green tankini even though I would have rather had solid green bottoms for it, a solid black tankini that didnt support my breasts as well, but fit alot better, and the pink control waist even though it pulled down my breasts. My friends agreed togheter that they did not like the pink control top on me in person. They said it looked better in pics, but not in person. Choosing between the striped green and the solid black tankinis my friends liked the solid black on me more, so that was what I went with.
Next we went to pick out our flip flops. We all found a pair of flip flops that matched our swimsuits as best as we could. Vicki picked pink to go with her black suit. Jessica chose a little different colored pink to match the pink color of her suit. Kimberly chose blue. I chose a pink pair as well. There was a good selection of beach towels. Kimberly picked a striped bue one that matched her suit quite well. Jessica picked a very colorful one that looked like a leaf pattern. My mom, Vicki, picked one that was a black and white zebra pink trimmed in pink. I chose a pink one with dots all over it.
Finally to the beach bags. We searched the whole store fromm front to back, but there was only one style of beach bags in the entire store. It came in six color styles, but the bags were the same. It came in a blue stripe, a pink stripe, a brown stripe, a solid pink, a solid blue, and a multi-colored stripe. They were made with a straw mateial. They were soft and flexibile. Jessica chose the muti-colored one. My mom and I both chose the stripped pink one, and Kimberly chose the striped blue one.
It was a very fun day at Old Navy. We got to enjoy a girl's day and got to see all of the beach items that Old Navy had to offer. It was exciting getting to try on all the styles of swim suits.

Try the Cottonelle Clean Care Routine

For this sample and share from Crowdtap, I received samples of Cottonelle's Clean Care toilet paper and Cottonelle Fresh Care Flushable Wipes. I received an 18 pack of toilet paper and one package of Fresh Care Flushable Wipes to try for myself. I also reeived two 4 packs of toilet paper and two other packs of flushable wipes to share with friends. I decided to give my mom both of the 4 packs of toilet paper and both of the flushable wipes packs. The reason I did this instead of giving to two different people is because my mom has 6 people living in her home on a regular basis and every other week there is one more. I felt that this gave a larger opinion of the products since there were so many people there to try it out and tell me what they thought of them. My moms house is separated into two parts, where my mom and dad live in one side and my two brothers, one brother's daughter and his girlfriend, and my Nana stay in the other side. The two packs were able to cover both sides of the house.

My family tried out the flushable wipes and the clean care toilet paper. This has now become a part of our everyday routine. We use the flushable wipes after each bowel movement and when we feel that we need a little extra clean feeling. My mom and family at her house cant live without it. My Nana uses the flushable wipes after each time in the rest room. This is a great way to get clean and feel clean between showers.

Old Navy Best Tees

On Tuesday April 9th, I took my mom to Old Navy with me to redeem our coupons for two free Old Navy Best Tees each. It was such an exciting day. I am learning so much about Old Navy's clothes and products. I have not worn their Best Tees before. I am a huge fan of their denim jeans, but have never actually worn their Best Tees before. I have worn a few of their other tees but not this particular kind. My mom and I went in and had an option to pick between the Perfect Best Tees and the Vintage Best Tees.
My mom has not shopped at Old Navy in many many years. So this was a new experience for her. She really wasn't sure that she would find anything she liked or if she would like their tees. She thought Old Navy was just for the younger crowd. My mom is only in her mid 40s. She is still pretty young. I was surprised that she hadn't been to Old Navy in so long. In my opinion, this store is perfect for the entire family of ALL AGES!
When we entered Old Navy, we began by finding the women's department and then the locations of the two types of tees we could choose from. We looked at the colors and prints and styles of both types of tees. The Perfect Best Tees were v-neck with a few buttons at the v, and came in a choice of short and long sleeve. The Vintage Best Tees were v-neck with logos and were short sleeve.
My mom was really liking the styles and the design of the tees. She commented on the length of the tees. Her and I both agree that many company make women's tees short in length and once you wash them they draw up and don't even come past your belt loops on your jeans. The Old Navy best tees were a good length and even after washing them they barely shrink and are still the perfect length.
After looking over the two styles of tees, we both decided on the Vintage Best Tees. We love the logos and the sayings. My favorite part is how soft these tees are. They are so comfy and are perfect for wearing out or just lounging around the house. My mom and I both chose a dark gray Vintage Best Tee with a hot pink Old Navy logo. My mom also chose a light gray one with (I believe) a green Old Navy logo. My other tee was a mint green color with Free Spirit on it. It is now my favorite tee that I own.
I love how you can do so much with these tees. They are so versatile. You can wear then day and night. and for just about anything. You can dress them up or dress them down.

Old Navy and Crowdtap Dress Sample and Share

On November 19, 2012 my friend Amanda and I went to Old Navy to pick out our free dresses. I am a member of Crowdtap (go here to sign up http://bit.ly/m9tKnm) and through Crowdtap I am a part of the Old Navy Style Council. I got selected for their Old Navy dresses sample and share. I was given one coupon for a free dress for myself and another coupon for a free dress for a friend. I chose to take my friend Amanda.
When we got to Old Navy, there was a display right up front with many of the styles of dresses. We chose about 4 each to try on, and then we found the rest of the dresses and Amanda chose 2 of those to try on. We each tried on a wrap dress (http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=86263&vid=1&pid=251851002), a t shirt style dress with a belt (http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=73355&vid=1&pid=330128032), a 3/4 sleeve dress with a belt (http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=50186&vid=1&pid=332796032), a silky feeling dress that zipped up the back (http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=86263&vid=1&pid=330125112), and she tried on 2 sweater dresses (http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=73359&vid=1&pid=372619002).
Amanda is a few months pregnant and because of this, she had some trouble getting the wrap dress to work and her and I both had trouble with the silky feeling dress that zipped up in the back. It looked really cute on once we did get it on. Looked cute on me not being pregnant, as well as her being pregnant, it was just really hard to get into and out of. The t shirt style dress also was really cute on. It is a very casual dress though. The 3/4 sleeve dress with belt is a very cute dress and quite flattering. The length for some people was shorter than they would have liked (others that were trying it on) but for me, it was a good length. I am however going to have to get a wider belt for it to help flatter my tummy area better. This 3/4 sleeve dress was the one that I chose for my dress. I plan to wear it for my husband's Christmas party. Amanda chose one of the sweater dresses. it flattered her quite well even with her pregnancy and it will also still fit her after she has the baby (she is one of those really tiny pregnant women that only gain in the belly and their clothes fit through their entire pregnancy). I would have loved to have gotten a sweater dress as well, but I will definitely be going back to get one later.
This was a great experience and there was a fantastic selection of dresses to choose from. A great big thanks to both Old Navy and Crowdtap for this opportunity and being so good to their customers and members.

Woolite sample and share with Crowdtap

Recently I was approved to be a part of a sample and share with Woolite on Crowdtap, http://bit.ly/m9tKnm. I was sent samples to share with my friends to try the new Woolite Extra Dark for Jeans and dark clothes. sadly since the samples came a little late, I wasn't able to share with everyone that I wanted to share with because so many were out of town  right before school starts this year. So what I did was had a few friends drop off their husbands military uniforms and I did a load of uniforms using a Woolite sample. To be quite honest I didn't see much of a difference. I guess its hard to tell when you use it after you have already washed clothes in other detergents before trying Woolite to see how it will keep it looking like new. I then did a load of my son's jeans since school is coming up and could really use for his jeans to look new longer so they don't wear out as fast. Same again that I didn't really see much of a change or difference using the Woolite on them with just one wash and the clothes had previously been washed with other detergents. Finally for myself I have recently purchased a new King size comforter for my bed and was needing to wash it for the first time. I was terrified at what the results would be of washing it. Other comforters have "bunched" in the washer, started to get the "rub" spots where the material rubs together and makes those little fuzzies and pieces that you usually have to remove with a fabric shaver. So I decided to take a sample of the Woolite with me to the laundry mat to see if it made a difference on my comforter. I have to say that with this one I was seriously surprised. My comforter came out looking as new as when I had put it in the washer! I do have to say that if you are starting from the first wash with Woolite Extra Dark, it helps alot and keeps things looking new. The colors in my comforter had not faded any, the shape all stayed like new, and the fabric did not get that worn or rubbed look either. So over all, with the comforter, I would have to say I am overly satisfied with Woolite! I am certain that with what it did for my comforter, that if I had washed brand new jeans or was washing the uniforms for the first time, that I would have seen the same results out of one wash with Woolite. I do have to say that I will be purchasing a bottle of Woolite Extra Dark especially for use with my Comforter.

I sent 2 samples with each of the 4 friends I still had here that I could give samples to (one only got one sample). Three of the 4 have gotten back to me. One tried her samples on her own load of her husbands uniforms. She used the first sample on a load and then waited and used her second sample on that same load when she had to wash the uniforms again a week later. She said she liked how it seemed to preserve the fabric of the uniforms. When you wash clothes, the fabric seems to get more worn with each wash, and she said with her 2 washes with the Woolite, that the clothes didn't feel like the clothes had gotten the full worn wear that they usually would after washing them. Another friend used each of her samples of 2 separate loads of jeans. She didn't notice a difference in the clothes after they were washed. The third friend commented on the fragrance of the detergent. She said that she liked how they clothes smelt after they were washed with the Woolite extra dark.

Yesterday my family hosted a party for the new Madagascar 3 movie using the materials provided through Crowdtap. We were supposed to have done the party about a week before but we had to postpone so that more of the kids could come to the party since no one was going to make it to the first date that was set. A friend of mine also uses Crowdtap and was accepted to host the Madagascar 3 party as well so we got together and done the party together so that more kids would be able to come to the party. We had a blast. Kids started coming at about 3 pm. As they came we just let them play games until all the kids showed up. I had decided not to decorate for the party so that they kids could decorate for it themselves. They loved this idea. I printed off the pages of the kit we were provided and the kids cut out the characters and colored them and they did the dot to dot color pages and cut out their masks. Then when they were all done, they used their activities to decorate around the room. They liked that they got to display their works of art to decorate for the party. They showed each other what they had done. We watched the trailer to the new movie and then all the kids talked about the new movie. A few of the kids had already seen the movies so they talked about the new movie for those that have not seen it yet. They told the kids their favorite parts and even acted out a few of those parts. The kids were really excited about hopefully getting to see the movie themselves soon. Throughout the party all the kids were singing "Afro, circus, afro, circus, polka dot, polka dot, afro". It was so much fun watching the kids enjoying themselves. For dinner my husband grilled for the kids. We had chicken and hotdogs. I also made macaroni and cheese and baked beans. Once the kids were finished eating dinner, they had some Zebra stripe brownies and Polka dot afro cupcakes. The brownies were fudge brownies swirled with cheesecake which looked black and white and striped like Zebra stripes. The cupcakes I improvised since the recipe they gave us so many people complained was dry so I didnt try it. I made some Fundamiddles cupcakes but in the cupcake mix I added colorful sprinkles. then made up the cupcakes and baked it. They came out with their muffin tops and the colors all together making them look like they were polka dotted afros. It was too cute and these were the kids favorite. Finally some of the kids got to stay for the sleepover and they watched the second Madagascar movie when they laid down for bed. It turned out to be a great party and I got several messages from the parents afterward about how much fun their kids had and how they talked about it for quite some time after going home.
